(ADA the SPY — Part 1)

Hello, everyone! ♪

前回で最終回を迎えた「The another order」。

Last time, we brought “The Another Order” to its final episode.

今回は、その素となったお話「ADA the SPY」をやっていきたいと思います。

This time, I’d like to play the game mode that inspired it: “ADA the SPY”!

初めてバイオハザード4が任天堂「ゲームキューブ」で発売された時からあった…本編クリア後のお楽しみ特典。

This bonus mode has been available since the original Resident Evil 4 was first released for Nintendo’s GameCube. It’s one of the special treats unlocked after clearing the main game.

PS２に移植された時に新しくついた特典「The Another Order」とは違い、エイダ単独で「プラーガ寄生体のサンプル」を回収する内容のゲームモードです。

Unlike “The Another Order,” which was added as a new bonus feature when the game was ported to the PS2, this mode has Ada working alone to collect Plaga parasite samples.

レオン編最後に訪れた孤島が舞台。

The setting is the island Leon visited near the end of his story.

ある男から受けた「プラーガ寄生体のサンプル」を５つ回収するという任務を、エイダは１人で無事にこなすことができるのでしょうか？

Ada has been given a mission by a certain man: retrieve five Plaga parasite samples. Can she successfully complete this dangerous mission all by herself?

それでは、「ADA the SPY」前編行動開始で～す♪

All right, it’s time to get “ADA the SPY — Part 1” underway! ♪

まずはレオン編と同じく、孤島の入り口からスタート！

First, just like Leon, we start at the entrance to the island!

先に進むと段差があり、下に飛び降りると…もう元に戻ることが許されません。

As we move forward, we come to a ledge. Once we jump down, there’s no going back!

そうそう、その前に…↑これがエイダの初期装備。

Oh, right! Before we go any further, here’s Ada’s starting equipment. ↑

さすが、エイダ！この装備の充実感…危険な任務に小慣れていますね。

That’s our Ada! Look at all this gear! She’s clearly no stranger to dangerous missions.

そして、黒のアーマー姿もお美しい

And she looks gorgeous in that black body armor, too!

このゲームには武器商人は登場しないので、このままの武器で強化も出来ず、弾をやりくりしていかないといけません。

There’s no Weapon Merchant in this game mode, so we have to make do with the weapons we start with. We can’t upgrade them, either, which means we’ll have to manage our ammunition carefully.

洞窟の中には、早速見張りが待ち構えていました。

There’s already a guard waiting for us inside the cave.

ここはライフルで、そっと攻撃。

I was going to quietly take him out with the rifle…

…と思ったけど、後々のことを考えて…ハンドガンで対処💦

…but then I thought about what lies ahead and decided to use the handgun instead. 💦

(多分)MAXまで改造したハンドガン「ブラックテイル」で複数のザコ敵と戦います。

We’ll be fighting several ordinary enemies with our Blacktail handgun, which I’ve probably upgraded to the maximum level.

ふぅなんとか倒すことが出来ました。

Phew! Somehow, we managed to take them all down.

このエイダは、ショットガンを持っていないので、大勢の敵を蹴散らすには大変です💦

Ada doesn’t have a shotgun, so dealing with large groups of enemies is pretty tough. 💦

…かといって、マシンピストルばかり使っていると…正直、弾切れで最後に詰みます。

…but if we rely on the TMP too much, we’ll honestly run out of ammo and get stuck later on.

ですので、ザコはなるべくハンドガンで倒さないといけません。

That’s why we need to take out ordinary enemies with the handgun whenever possible.

その先、道が２手に分かれているので、左の行き止まりに行くと…段差の上に何かあるみたい。

A little farther ahead, the path splits in two. If we take the dead end on the left, we find something sitting up on a ledge.

「The Another Order」でも魅せた…エイダ独特の段差の登り方で、華麗に上へ💧

Ada shows off that unique way of climbing up ledges that she also demonstrated in “The Another Order” and gracefully makes her way to the top. 💧

２つの木箱からアイテムGET！

We get some items from the two wooden crates!

このゲームモードでも「イエローハーブ」が出るんだね。

So, Yellow Herbs can appear in this game mode, too!

アイテムを回収したら、分かれ道まで戻り、もう一方へ進みます。

Once we’ve collected the items, we return to the fork and take the other path.

すると、そこは要塞のような場所が広がっていました。

And there we find a fortress-like area stretching out before us.

大勢の敵が待ち構えていそうです💦

It looks like there are going to be plenty of enemies waiting for us. 💦

(↑音なし)

(No audio)

…意外とエイダに気付いてない敵たち💧 (途中で気付かれるけど…)

…Surprisingly, the enemies haven’t noticed Ada yet. 💧 (Although some of them will spot her eventually…)

見張りで立っている訳じゃあないんだね💦？

They’re not actually standing guard, are they? 💦

みんな、ボ～ッと明後日の方向を向いて、侵入者に気付いてないんだもの…マシンピストルお見舞いしちゃうわ♡

They’re all just staring blankly in the wrong direction, completely oblivious to the intruder! Well, in that case, I’m going to give them a taste of the TMP! ♡

遠くの見張りには、いつも通りライフルよ♪

And, as usual, I’ll use the rifle on the guards in the distance! ♪

な～んだ、敵それだけ？…なんて、広場へ出ると…、

What? That’s all the enemies here? …I thought, as I stepped out into the open…

やっぱり、この人…ガトリングおじさん登場！

But of course, the Gatling Gun Guy makes his appearance!

今日も黒の眼帯がキマってます💧

That black eyepatch is looking sharp as ever today. 💧

(↑音あり)

(Audio)

ガトリングおじさんだけだったら良いけど、エイダはショットガンがないので、その他のザコ敵と同時に戦うのが大変💦

It would be one thing if I only had to deal with Gatling Gun Guy, but Ada doesn’t have a shotgun, so fighting him and all the other ordinary enemies at the same time is tough. 💦

建物の間を逃げつつ、おじさんにライフルを当てて倒すしかありません。

My only option is to keep running between the buildings and land rifle shots on the big guy until he goes down.

あなたたちは、おじさんを倒した後に相手してあげるから待ってなさいよ～！

You lot can wait until I’ve taken care of him! Then I’ll deal with you!

…と言っても、敵全員「…で？」って感じ。

…But the enemies are basically like, “…And?” They couldn’t care less!

そんなことはお構いなしにガトリングおじさんと共に襲ってきます💧

They keep coming after me alongside Gatling Gun Guy, completely ignoring what I said. 💧

そうやって、ヒット＆アウェイしながら、なんとかおじさんを倒しました。

So, after a bit of hit-and-run combat, I finally managed to take him down.

苦労して倒したおじさんが落としたものは…なんと「手榴弾」💧

And what does the guy drop after all that trouble?

A hand grenade. 💧

割に合わな～い

That hardly seems worth the effort!

…けど、後々その貴重さと大切さを知ることになるのです。

…but I’ll come to appreciate just how precious and important that grenade is later on.

そして、周辺のザコ敵たちも倒し、落ち着いたところでアイテム回収。

After taking care of the remaining ordinary enemies in the area, I finally have some peace and quiet to collect the items.

↑こんなものが、拾えました。

Here’s one of the things I managed to pick up! ↑

はぁ～結構疲れたけど、なんとか倒せたわ💦

Phew! That was pretty exhausting, but I somehow made it through! 💦

さぁ、次に行くわよ！

All right, on to the next area!

その先を進むと、土嚢が積まれた内側に「イエローハーブ」。

奥の行き止まりに「レッドハーブ」がありました。

A little farther ahead, there’s a Yellow Herb inside the sandbag barricade, and a Red Herb at the dead end beyond it.

もう、他に何もないので梯子を登ります。

There’s nothing else here, so let’s climb the ladder.

上に登ると、すぐに戦闘曲が流れてきて、ここにも敵が大勢いそう。

As soon as I reach the top, the battle music starts playing. Looks like there are plenty of enemies up here, too.

待ち構えてる敵をライフルで狙撃。

I take aim and snipe one of the waiting enemies with the rifle.

「あぽなどぅ！」(空耳)

“Aponadoo!” (That’s what it sounds like!)

その銃声を聞きつけ、他のザコ敵に気付かれてしまったようです。

Apparently, the gunshot alerted the other ordinary enemies, and they’ve noticed me now.

あれ？さっきの空耳は、洞窟の中の敵のものじゃないみたい。

Huh? So that misheard line from earlier wasn’t coming from the enemies inside the cave after all.

↑気付いてないもの…💧

Look! They haven’t even noticed me! 💧

じゃあ、誰がエイダに空耳を浴びせてきたの💦？

Then who was it that hit Ada with that wonderfully misheard line? 💦

迷路のようになっている洞窟内の行き止まりに「レッドハーブ」。

There’s a Red Herb at a dead end inside this maze-like cave.

ここはレオン編でも有名な…お宝「聖猫の像」が置いてある隠れポイントよね♪

This is a familiar treasure spot from Leon’s story, isn’t it? The one where the Elegant Mask is hidden! ♪

絶対に行かないと～♡

I absolutely have to go there! ♡

ドカーン！

BOOM!

ほら～♡ 部屋内の高台に宝箱♪

See? ♡ There’s a treasure chest on the raised platform inside the room!

ありがたく、いただきま～……あ”？

Thank you very much! I’ll gladly take th— HUH?!

は…箱の中身、「手榴弾」になってる～

The chest contains a hand grenade instead!

なんで、こんなものを御大層な宝箱に入れるのよ～！

Why would anyone put something like that inside such a fancy treasure chest?! !

そうやってぬか喜びしていると…さっき「あぽなどぅ」したとみられる敵が、数名引き連れて洞窟内のエイダを追い詰めに来ました。

While I was getting my hopes up for nothing, several enemies—apparently including the one who shouted “Aponadoo!” earlier—came chasing after Ada into the cave to corner her.

…まぁ、その敵たちは、さっきの宝箱の件の八つ当たりでエイダに倒されたことは、言うまでもありませんね💧

…Well, needless to say, Ada took out her frustration over the disappointing treasure chest on those enemies. 💧

洞窟を出て、道を進むと…土嚢の先には物騒なものを手にした輩が大勢いました。

We leave the cave and continue along the path. Beyond the sandbags, we find a whole bunch of suspicious-looking guys carrying dangerous weapons.

遠目に見える吊り橋からは弓矢でエイダを狙う者もいます

Some of them are even aiming crossbows at Ada from a suspension bridge in the distance.

↑手前の敵がエイダに気付き、早速ダイナマイトに火をつけようとしています💧

The enemy in the foreground has spotted Ada and is already trying to light the fuse on his dynamite. 💧

バボーン！

KABOOM!

でも、エイダが何をせずとも相手が自爆💧

But Ada doesn’t even have to do anything! The enemy blows himself up. 💧

ラ、ラッキ～？

W-Was that… lucky?

どうやら、他のダイナマイト持ちが、エイダの手前にダイナマイトを投げて同士討ちするカタチになったようです。

Apparently, another enemy carrying dynamite threw his explosive toward the area right in front of Ada, resulting in a bit of friendly fire.

教団始まって以来の侵入者が来て、焦って手元が狂っちゃったのかしら💧？

Maybe the first intruder the cult has ever encountered threw them into such a panic that they fumbled their explosives! 💧

見える範囲の敵を全て倒し、その後…真っすぐ坂を登らず、左の洞窟内が気になるので、そちらへ行きます。

After taking out all the enemies within sight, I decide not to head straight up the slope. Instead, I’m curious about the cave on the left, so I go inside.

洞窟の奥には「グリーンハーブ」がありました。

There’s a Green Herb at the back of the cave.

すると、次のステージの扉の前に盾持ちや弓矢などの敵が陣取っていました。

Next, we find some enemies stationed in front of the door to the next area. Some have shields, while others are armed with crossbows.

「あぎぃ～」(空耳？)

“Agiii!” (Was that another misheard line?)

あっさりエイダに気付く敵たち💦 洞窟内に誘って、ハンドガンで処理。

The enemies spot Ada almost immediately. 💦

I lure them into the cave and deal with them using the handgun.

その前に弓矢は、ライフルで速攻に倒しました…嫌いだから！

Before that, though, I quickly take out the crossbow users with the rifle.

Because I hate those guys!

さぁ、これで次に進めます。

All right, now we can move on!

坂道を下ると…あ～、やっぱり武器商人の姿がありません💧

As we head down the slope… yep, just as I thought. There’s no sign of the Weapon Merchant. 💧

閉店の挨拶のように置かれた「グリーンハーブ」GET！

Instead, we find a Green Herb sitting there, almost like a farewell gift from a shop that’s just closed for the day. I’ll take it!

あんな人でもいないと寂しくなるものなのね…。

Even someone like that guy can leave you feeling lonely when he’s gone…

＼(^o^)／ GAME OVER—just kidding!

すると、すぐ奥の通路から空耳が聞こえてきました。

Suddenly, I hear a familiar misheard line coming from the passage just ahead.

弓矢～

Crossbow guy!

↑よく見ると…壁に隠れてリロードしているの図。

↑ Look closely… He’s hiding behind the wall while reloading!

今まで滅多にいなかった狡猾なタイプです。

We haven’t encountered many sneaky enemies like this one so far.

そういう輩は、近づいてハンドガン！

When dealing with guys like him, the trick is to get close and use the handgun!

弓矢のような遠距離攻撃をする敵は、素早い接近戦に弱いのです。

Enemies who rely on long-range attacks, such as crossbows, are weak against a quick close-range assault.

え～？ここの扉から行けないの～💦⁉

Huh? You mean I can’t go through this door?! 💦⁉

近くにある梯子から上へ。

There’s a ladder nearby, so let’s climb up.

スパイといえば「潜入」。

When you think of a spy, you think of infiltration.

普通の扉からじゃなく、こういった通気口から…がイメージ通りですね。

Rather than going through an ordinary door, sneaking in through a ventilation shaft like this is exactly what you’d expect from a spy!

潜入した先は薄暗く不気味。

The area we infiltrate is dimly lit and creepy.

何処からか電気のビリビリ音が響いています。

Somewhere in the distance, I can hear the crackling buzz of electricity.

ここは階段の踊り場で、上にも下にも行けます。

We’re on a stairway landing, with stairs leading both up and down.

取り敢えず、下から行ってみましょう。

For now, let’s try going down.

すると、階段途中にモーニングスター持ちがいるので…ちょっとビックリ💦

And… there’s an enemy wielding a morning star right on the stairs!

That gave me quite a scare. 💦

無言で立っていたので気付かず、危うく攻撃をくらうところでした。

He was standing there silently, so I didn’t notice him until I nearly got hit!

階段を降りた先の前と左にドアが！

At the bottom of the stairs, there are doors straight ahead and to the left.

でも、どちらにも進めません。

But neither of them will let us proceed.

右の小部屋に「グリーンハーブ」と「マシンピストルの弾」がありました。

In the small room on the right, we find a Green Herb and some TMP ammo.

そこで行き止まりなので、戻って先ほどの階段を今度は登ります。

That’s a dead end, so we head back and climb the stairs we just came down.

登った先の廊下はＴ字路になっていて、左側に目立った赤いボックスが…！

The corridor at the top forms a T-junction, and there’s a conspicuous red box on the left!

開けてみたけど…何もな～し💧

I open it, but… there’s nothing inside! 💧

そのまま左側を道なりに進んだ廊下の先に、普通に立っていたモーニングスター持ち💧

Continuing along the corridor to the left, we find another enemy with a morning star just standing there in plain sight. 💧

こちらに気付く前に、ライフルで狙撃。

Before he notices us, I take him out with a rifle shot.

突き当りには大きな扉。

At the end of the corridor, there’s a large door.

早速、中に入ってみましょう。

Let’s go inside and see what’s there!

なんか研究ラボみたいなところに出ました。

It looks like some kind of research laboratory.

ガラス越しに見える実験室みたいなところにも敵！

There are enemies inside what looks like an experimental chamber, visible through the glass!

(結局１人には気付かれてしまうけど)ライフルで確実に仕留め、数を減らしておきます。

One of them eventually notices me, but I use the rifle to take them out carefully and reduce their numbers.

その右側の奥の部屋にも敵！

There are more enemies in the room at the back on the right!

無防備な分、先制攻撃できるからまだマシ。

At least they’re not on guard, so I can get the first shot in. That makes things a little easier.

倒れている男から…このゲーム初めての「寄生体のサンプル」GET！

And from the man lying on the floor, I obtain the first Plaga parasite sample in this game!

残りあと４本、回収しなくてはいけません。

That leaves four more samples to collect.

すると、先に進むのを阻止するように、室内に侵入してくる敵たち💦

Just then, enemies start pouring into the room, trying to stop us from going any farther. 💦

ここは(少し苦しいけど)ハンドガンで応戦！

Here, I fight back with the handgun… although it’s a bit of a struggle!

さぁ、さっきのＴ字路の右側へ進むわよ。

All right, let’s head to the right side of that T-junction we passed earlier.

金網の扉を開けた先へ進むと、

We open the metal-mesh gate and move forward.

所どころに、静か～にポツポツ立っている敵。

Here and there, enemies are standing quietly, scattered around the area.

こちらに気付いてないとはいえ、気が抜けません。

Even though they haven’t noticed us, we can’t afford to let our guard down.

そのエイダの背後には頑丈そうなトランクが！

And behind Ada, there’s a sturdy-looking briefcase!

中身はただの「マシンピストルの弾」💧

But inside… it’s just TMP ammo. 💧

この「ADA the SPY」では一番大切なのは「寄生体サンプル」回収なので、残念ながら…お宝の概念はありません。

In “ADA the SPY,” the most important objective is collecting the Plaga parasite samples, so unfortunately, there’s no real treasure hunting in this mode.

その近くの赤いボックスから「レッドハーブ」GET！

We pick up a Red Herb from the nearby red box!

そして、レオン編では「冷凍室」と呼ばれていた部屋に入ります。

Next, we enter the room known as the Freezer in Leon’s story.

リヘナラたん４体が天井からぶら下がっている「冷凍室」内のアイテム回収💧

Inside, four Regeneradors are hanging from the ceiling.

And here I am, trying to collect the items in the Freezer with those things hanging overhead. 💧

一番奥にあるバルブハンドルを回す冷凍庫には、

In the freezer at the very back, where we have to turn a valve handle…

２つ目の「寄生体サンプル」がありました♪

…we find the second Plaga parasite sample! ♪

ちなみにこの「寄生体サンプル」。

普通の武器類と一緒に、そのままアタッシュケースに入れて運びます💧

By the way, these Plaga parasite samples are carried in the attaché case just like ordinary weapons and items. 💧

集めるたびに、場所を圧迫してくるので、整理整頓…今後の弾の消費の仕方を考えなくてはいけません。

Every time we collect one, it takes up more space, so we’ll have to keep things organized and think carefully about how we use our ammunition from here on out.

残る「寄生体サンプル」は３つ。

There are three samples left.

果たして、エイダは無事に任務を遂行できるのか？その任務を依頼してきたのは一体誰なのか？

Will Ada be able to complete her mission safely? And who exactly is the person who hired her for this job?

そして、↑ペセタの部分にご注目！あんなに敵を倒したのに０ペセタ‼

And one more thing—take a look at the pesetas counter in the screenshot above!

After defeating all those enemies, I still have ZERO pesetas!!

敵は１ペセタもお金を落としません…💧

The enemies don’t drop a single peseta… 💧

エイダ「え～？それじゃあ、トレジャーハンターを名乗れないじゃないの⁉」

Ada: “Huh?! How am I supposed to call myself a treasure hunter if I can’t earn any money?!”

いえいえ、今回のお宝はあくまでも「寄生体サンプル」なのです。
