Hello, everyone!

「メトロシティの龍」ことレオンです。

I’m Leon, also known as the “Dragon of Metro City.”

今回は某アクションゲームの主人公に成りきって登場してみたぜ！

This time, I’ve decided to make my entrance in the guise of the protagonist from a certain action game!

↑この表情…本家に劣らず、凄みがあるだろう？

Look at that expression…! Pretty intimidating, isn’t it? I can give the original a run for his money!

その威厳を借りて、この格好のまま、大事な神前格闘大会を勝ち抜いていくぞ！

With that borrowed air of authority, I’m going to keep this outfit on and fight my way to victory in the important Fighting Festival!

…そして、ボシュの無謀なテロ行為を止めてみせる‼

…and put a stop to Bosch’s reckless act of terrorism once and for all!!

選手入場…。

The fighters enter the arena…

み、みんな、派手で変わった格好してるな…

W-Wow… Everyone’s wearing such flashy and unusual outfits… 💧

格闘大会とは思えないくらいチャラケたヤツも多いし…。イロモノばっかり‼

Some of them are so goofy, you’d never think this was a martial arts tournament…

It’s a whole parade of oddballs!!

逆に、オレのコスプレが普通の格好過ぎて、注目されるっていう…💧

And here I am, getting attention precisely because my cosplay looks so ordinary… 💧

…お！あの段ボール姿!?

…Oh! Is that a cardboard box!?

ボシュ…、アイツもちゃんと参加しているようだ…。

Bosch… Looks like he’s participating after all…

大会開会式…。

The tournament’s opening ceremony…

「伝統の舞」…って、ナイシャールの伝統ってこと？

“The Traditional Dance”… Does that mean it’s a traditional dance from Nayshall?

…あ！踊り子の中にボシュの妹…ユアがいる。

…Oh! There’s Bosch’s little sister, Yua, among the dancers!

ボシュ…それに気付いてないのか？

Has Bosch not noticed her?

そんな中、登壇する男…こいつがJPか…。

And now, the man stepping onto the stage… So this is JP…

オレに劣らず、髪サラサラだな！

His hair is almost as silky-smooth as mine!

…って、こいつは‼

…Wait a minute… HIM!!

そういえば、ベルトに「安全装置」を取り付けに忍び込んだ時に、この男がふいにオレの前に現れたんだ！

Come to think of it, this was the man who suddenly appeared in front of me when I sneaked in to install the “safety device” on the belt!

向こうはオレを知っていたようだ。

It seemed like he knew who I was.

…まぁな。

…Well, yeah.

ぎくぅ‼

GULP!!

「は、はいっ💦！」

“Y-Yes, sir! 💦”

…💧

あ、怪しいと思われた？

D-Did he suspect something?

あの男もオレをそれ以上咎めずに、普通に去って行ったし…大丈夫だよな⁉

He didn’t press me any further and simply walked away, so I guess I’m okay… right!?

…取り敢えず、「安全装置」は取り付けることが出来た。

Anyway, I managed to install the “safety device.”

あとは大会当日を待つだけ。

All that was left was to wait for the day of the tournament.

…と思っていたが、あの男がそのJPなら、ヤバいんじゃないのか⁉

…Or so I thought. But if that man was JP, then we’re in serious trouble, aren’t we!?

すべて知っていて、その掌で踊らされているだけなのでは…？

Did he know everything all along, and have me dancing in the palm of his hand…?

これはマズいぞ！嫌な予感がする⁉

This is bad! I’ve got a really nasty feeling about this!!

…とかなんとか言っちゃって～💦

…Or so I say~ 💦

そんな怪しい男…JPと↑記念撮影

There I was, taking a commemorative photo with that suspicious man… JP!

こんな状況なのに、全く緊張感のない２人💧

Even in a situation like this, neither of us seems the least bit tense. 💧

ボシュ「なに一緒に仲良く写真なんか撮っちゃってんだよ～！」

Bosch: “Why the heck are you taking a friendly picture together with him!? ”

JPと2ショットなんて撮っちゃったもんだから、すっかり嫌な予感のことも忘れちゃってた～💦

Well, after taking a photo with JP, I completely forgot about my bad feeling… 💦

そんな愉快な(？)事件があって、とうとう大会当日。

After that amusing (?) little incident, the big day finally arrived.

あ！ パンチさん、久しぶり～♪ あなたも参加するんですか～？

Oh! Punch, long time no see! ♪ Are you participating too?

…なんて、思っちゃうほどの風貌のパンチさん。

…Well, that’s how striking his appearance is!

あ、ありがとう！

そんな緊張をほぐしてくれることを言ってくれて♪

That’s just what I needed to hear to calm my nerves! ♪

え？そうだったの💦⁉

Huh? So that’s how it was? 💦!?

…の割には、試合前の体調管理とか、食事管理とかしてくれないよね。

For someone who says that, you sure don’t help me manage my physical condition or diet before a match.

これじゃあ、ただ付いてきた人…つまり、本当の意味の「付き人」だね。

At this rate, you’re just someone who tagged along… In other words, a real “attendant” in the literal sense of the word.

…パンチさん、言ってることは間違ってはいないな💧

…Well, Punch isn’t exactly wrong. 💧

O-Okay…

じゃあ、行ってきます💧

Then, I guess I’d better get going. 💧

そんなパンチさんに見送られ、会場に入りました。

With Punch seeing me off, I entered the venue.

この大会の運営を裏で支えるスタッフの１人…シモンさんが話しかけてきました。

One of the staff members working behind the scenes to support the tournament, Simon, came up and spoke to me.

ノービスリーグ優勝から、オレの大ファン？

He’s been a huge fan of mine ever since I won the Novice League?

「格闘」のオレ？それとも「バイオ」のオレ⁉

Is he a fan of me as a fighter? Or as a Resident Evil character!?

…ってそりゃあ、この世界では「格闘」のオレの方…だよね💧

…Well, in this world, it has to be the fighting version of me, right? 💧

これでも、いろいろなところで有名なので………フッ

I’m pretty famous in all sorts of places, you know… Heh.

なんと、FooTubeも視ているらしい…💧

Apparently, he even watches FooTube… 💧

まさか、そっちの人気からの流れで、オレのファンになったのか？

Wait, does that mean he became my fan because of my popularity over there!?

…だったら、オレの知名度もまだまだだな💧

…If that’s the case, I’ve still got a long way to go before I’m truly famous. 💧

…まぁ、対戦相手の事前調査ってことなら、有りだよな。

突然、分からないスタイルで戦われても困るし…。

It would be a problem if someone suddenly started fighting with a style I knew nothing about…

どんな格闘技でも、スポーツの試合でも、事前にリサーチするのは常識だしな！

And just before the first round, I ran into Punch again.

And then, the “Yes” or “No” options to start the match.

…「あきらめる」の選択まで！(「あきらめる」ワケないだろう？)

There’s even an option to “Give Up”! (As if I’d ever give up!)

こんな重要な仕切りの時ばかり、しゃしゃってくるパンチさん…💧

Punch only ever jumps in to take charge at these important moments… 💧

はい、はい、もう頑張りますよ～💧

All right, all right! I’ll do my best already! 💧

…と「はい」を選択。

…and I selected “Yes.”

１回戦スタート！

The first round begins!

結構、体力削られたけど…勝利♪

I lost quite a bit of stamina, but…

I WON!! ♪

すぐに、２回戦！

Right away, it was time for the second round!

こちらは、あっけなく勝利♫

This one was an easy VICTORY! ♫

立て続けに、３回戦！

And then, straight into the third round!

２本先取で勝利♬

I won by taking two rounds first! ♬

まだまだ続く、４回戦！

Still going strong, it was time for round four!

とうとう、決勝まで勝ち上がったオレ。

At long last, I’d made it all the way to the FINAL!

対戦相手は………ダンボール闘奴⁉ 何それ💧？

The Cardboard Gladiator!?

What the heck is that supposed to mean? 💧

ところで「闘奴」って何～？なんて読むの～💦？

By the way, what does “gladiator” even mean in this context? And how are you supposed to read that name? 💦

※闘奴(とうど…当て字で「グラディエーター」)…賭けの対象としてスタジアムで死闘を演じる奴隷のこと…らしい。

Note: The Japanese term used here is “闘奴” (tōdo), an invented term meaning “gladiator.” Apparently, it refers to a slave forced to fight to the death in a stadium for the entertainment of gamblers…

…と、考え込んでいたら…やっぱりボシュのことだった！

While I was pondering all that…

As I suspected, it turned out to be Bosch!

ダンボール…もういらなくね？戦いづらいだろうし…💧

You don’t need that cardboard box anymore, do you? It must be pretty hard to fight in… 💧

…なんて、こんな冗談も今のボシュには伝わらない。

…But Bosch isn’t in the mood to understand jokes like that anymore.

紫の怨念みたいな気を出し、改造された身体も限界のようだ。

A purple, resentful-looking aura is pouring out of him, and his modified body seems to be reaching its limits.

もう、オレが出来ることは決勝戦に勝って、ボシュを止めるだけ！…なのか？

The only thing I can do now is win the final and stop Bosch!

…Is that really all I can do?

そしてまた、大事なところだけ仕切ろうとする、パンチさん登場。

And here comes Punch again, trying to take charge at the one moment that matters!

…ボシュ、悪いがこの決勝…オレが勝たせてもらうぞ‼

…Sorry, Bosch, but I’m going to have to win this final match!!

そして、運命の試合開始！

And so, the fateful battle begins!

さすがに、改造されたボシュは激強で大苦戦💦

As expected, the modified Bosch is incredibly strong, and I find myself in serious trouble! 💦

今までの集大成をボシュにぶつけ、

I throw everything I’ve learned up to this point at Bosch…

なんとか、ギリギリで勝利

And somehow, by the narrowest of margins…

I WIN!!

ボシュの無益な計画を、まず１つ…止めることが出来た！

I’ve managed to put a stop to at least one part of Bosch’s senseless plan!

そして、表彰式。

And then came the awards ceremony.

オレが取り付けたはずの「安全装置」が付いたベルトを高々と掲げるJP。

JP held up the belt, complete with the “safety device” I’d supposedly installed.

…ボシュ、済まない。

…I’m sorry, Bosch.

この場で凶行に出ようとしても…もう、ベルトは爆発しないんだ…。

Even if you try to carry out your violent plan here, the belt won’t explode anymore…

…何⁉

…WHAT!?

爆破ボタンが作動した、だと⁉

The bomb’s trigger has activated!?

しかも、ベルトのプレゼンターはボシュの妹…ユア！

And the person presenting the belt is none other than Bosch’s little sister, Yua!!

それに気付いたボシュは、ベルトを奪い、遠くに投げようとしたが………間に合わず、大爆発。

When Bosch realized what was happening, he grabbed the belt and tried to throw it far away…

But he was too late.

A MASSIVE EXPLOSION!!

そ、そんな…やはり、JPは全てお見通しだったってことか…。

N-No… So JP really did know everything all along…

ベルトの「安全装置」を外したことも、ベルトのプレゼンターにユアを選んだのも…全てこの男が仕組んだもの。

He was the one who arranged everything: removing the belt’s “safety device,” and even choosing Yua to present it…

It was all part of this man’s plan.

結局、ボシュが…ボシュだけが犠牲に…。

In the end, Bosch…

Bosch was the only one who became a victim.

それなのに…、

And yet…

「無意味な４」ってなんだよ⁉

What the hell do you mean, “a meaningless death”!?

お前だけは、許せん！ボシュの仇はオレが取る‼

You’re the one person I can’t forgive!

I’ll avenge Bosch!!

取り敢えず、１本目はオレの勝ち！

First round…

I WIN!!

２本目もオレの楽勝‼ 憎きJPを倒した。

The second round was an EASY WIN for me, too!!

I defeated the despicable JP.

(改造されていたとはいえ)お前なんかより、ボシュの方が断然強かったぞ！

Even if you were modified, Bosch was a whole lot stronger than you!

He really was stronger than you…!

…強かったぞ～‼

…He really was…!!

あぁ、ボシュ…こんな男のせいで…。

Ah, Bosch… All because of a man like him…

ボシュの仇は討てたが…なぜか空しさが残る。

I’ve avenged Bosch, but for some reason, I still feel empty inside.

…高笑いすなっ‼

Stop laughing like that!!

…確かに、JPを倒したってボシュはもう帰って来ない。

…It’s true. Even if I defeat JP, Bosch isn’t coming back.

くそぅ！ JPの質問にちゃんと答えられない自分に腹が立つ‼

Damn it! I’m so angry with myself for not being able to give JP a proper answer to his question!!

それでも…、最後まで、ボシュは４んでないと願っていたオレ。

And yet…

Until the very end, I kept hoping that Bosch wasn’t really dead.

JPの組織から改造されていたので、あんな黒焦げになっても…、

Since he’d been modified by JP’s organization, I thought that even after being burned black like that…

「よぅ！さっきのはマジヤバかったな～💦」

“Hey! That was seriously messed up back there! 💦”

…なんて立ち上がってくると思ったのに…。

He’d get back up and say something like,

本当に4んじゃったのか？…ボシュ⁉

…But was he really dead?

Bosch…!?

まさか、こんな胸糞エンドを迎えるとは………人の４はいくら経験しても哀しい。

I never imagined this story would end in such a miserable way…

No matter how many times I experience someone’s death, it never gets any easier.

どんなに頑張っても助けられない生命がある。

No matter how hard I try, there are lives I simply can’t save.

…そして、また今回の出来事(この修行期間)で無力感を味わってしまうオレなのであった。

…and once again, this whole experience (my training period) has left me feeling utterly powerless.

それでも、オレにはまだやらなきゃいけないことがある！

But even so…

There are still things I have to do!

アイツとの…ボシュとの約束を果たさなくては‼

I have to keep the promise I made to him…

To Bosch!!

！

「ごめん、わからない…。」

“I don’t know. I’m sorry.”

そんな…本当の事なんて、言えない…。

I can’t tell her the truth… Not when it’s something like this.

…でも、「残念だけど…」の方の選択肢の返事も見てみたい。 (ごめんね、ユア。意地悪で…💧)

…But I do want to see what happens if I choose the other option, “I’m afraid I have some bad news…”

Sorry, Yua. I’m being a little mean… 💧

恐る恐る…本当のことを言ってみる…。

With a heavy heart, I decided to tell her the truth…

グサ～ッ

STAB!!

そ…、それで良い。

Th-That’s all right.

ユアが真実を知って傷つくくらいなら…ボシュを助けられなかったオレを嘘つき呼ばわりしても構わない…。

If knowing the truth would only hurt Yua, then I don’t mind if she calls me a liar for failing to save Bosch…

とにかく、ユアにボシュの腕輪を渡すことが出来た。

Anyway, I managed to give Yua Bosch’s bracelet.

約束は果たしたぞ…ボシュ。

I kept my promise, Bosch.

その後、カリマさんたちのアジトへ。

After that, I went to Kalima and the others’ hideout.

あぁ、知ってる。

Yeah, I know.

実際に拳を交えたオレが言うのだから…間違いない！

I’m telling you this as someone who actually fought him with my own fists, so you can be sure I’m right!

…。

そうだな…。

That’s right…

ボシュの４を無駄にしないように…あんな想いはもうたくさんだ‼

We have to make sure Bosch’s death wasn’t in vain.

I’ve had more than enough of experiences like this!!

だから、もう２度とこんな哀しい手段は選ばないでくれ。

So please… Don’t ever choose such a heartbreaking method again.

そして、オレはもう一度、己の心に問う。

And once more, I ask myself…

「強さってなんだ？」

“What does it mean to be strong?”

答えは、まだ出ない…生きている限り、極め続ける限り…。

I still don’t have an answer.

As long as I’m alive, and as long as I keep striving to become stronger…

…って、会話の途中で、

…But wait! In the middle of the conversation…

ルーク「お前の旅はこれで終わりか？」

Luke: “Is your journey over now?”

レオン(…首を横に振る)

Leon: (shakes his head)

ルーク「…そっか。」

Luke: “…I see.”

…って電話なのになぜ分かった⁉

…Wait, how did he know that!?

It was a phone call, wasn’t it?

テレビ電話してる感じじゃなかったし…ルーク師匠、透視能力あったっけ？

It didn’t look like we were having a video call… Does Master Luke have some kind of X-ray vision?

それより、ジムが近いのに直接話せば良いじゃない💦

Besides, the gym is nearby. Couldn’t we have just talked in person? 💦

…と思ったけど、顔を合わせると、ボシュのこと思い出しちゃってつらいから電話にしたのかな？

…Or maybe he chose to call because seeing each other’s faces would remind us of Bosch, and that would be too painful?

まぁ、ともあれ、これでオレのメトロシティでの修行の日々はおしまい。

Anyway, that’s the end of my days of training in Metro City.

でも、ルーク師匠が言うように「強さ」とはなにか？を知るためには…オレの旅は永遠に終わらない。

But just as Master Luke said, if I want to discover what “strength” really means, my journey will never truly end.

First up is Master Jamie!

やっべ～、ヤバい人と目が合っちゃった～💦と最初は思ってしまった。

At first, I thought, “Whoa… I’ve made eye contact with a seriously dangerous guy!” 💦

そのジェイミー師匠のプロフィールは…、

自称・中華街のトラブルバスター。

A self-proclaimed trouble-buster of Chinatown.

憧れる“双龍”ユン・ヤン兄弟（スト3で活躍の双子の戦士）にならい道理や仲間を尊ぶ義と、拳法の武によって街を守っている。特技はダンス全般。

Inspired by the “Twin Dragons,” Yun and Yang (the twin fighters who made their mark in Street Fighter III), he protects the streets with his martial arts and a strong sense of justice, valuing reason and friendship.

His special skill is dancing of all kinds.

ちょっと…じゃなく、だいぶアル中の気があり…と思ったら、飲んでるものは「薬湯」だそう…💧

He seems to have a bit of a drinking problem… Well, actually, quite a serious one…

But apparently, what he’s drinking is medicinal tea… 💧

Second is Master Lily! ♪

「じぃさま」とかいう何言ってんだか分からない←コラ

She kept talking about some “Grandpa” whose words I couldn’t understand at all… ← Hey!

シャーマンの言葉を鵜吞みにし、オレを「恐るべき邪悪」の者と勘違い💧

She took the shaman’s words at face value and mistakenly thought I was a “terrible evil” presence. 💧

結局、誤解が解け、弟子にしてもらった。

Eventually, the misunderstanding was cleared up, and she agreed to take me on as her student.

な～んだ、師匠も「じぃさま」の言葉、聞き取れてなかったんだ～💧

So, Master Lily couldn’t understand what “Grandpa” was saying either, huh? 💧

パルクールの身のこなしで空駆ける、砂漠の荒鷲。風を味方に高い機動力で相手を翻弄。

The Desert Eagle who soars through the air with his parkour skills.

He uses the wind to his advantage, confusing his opponents with his incredible mobility.

古い王家の血をひく高貴な生まれで、言動は軽いけれど根は誠実。趣味は動画配信。

Born into a noble family descended from an ancient royal bloodline, he may speak casually, but he’s sincere at heart.

His hobby is video streaming.

Dislikes: Fighting women or children, loading times, taunting comments
同じパルクール使いのキンバリー師匠とは無関係らしい。Apparently, he has nothing to do with Master Kimberly, despite both of them being parkour practitioners.

Now, let’s take a look at my recommended outfits for this week! ♪

１つ目は、白のテーラードジャケット・赤のオープンチェストシャツ・

白のテーパードパンツ・白のウィンクルピッカーズ・

金の烈の腕時計

First outfit:

A white tailored jacket, a red open-chest shirt,

white tapered trousers, white winklepickers,

and a gold Retsu wristwatch.

以前、紹介したコーデを更に極めたもの。

This is an upgraded version of an outfit I introduced before.

VネックだったシャツをYシャツに変え、よりあの人に近づくことが出来ました♪

I changed the V-neck shirt to a dress shirt, bringing myself even closer to that character! ♪

続いてのコーデは、麦わら帽子・白の相撲取りの浴衣・

黒の駒下駄

Next outfit:

A straw hat, a white sumo wrestlers yukata,

and black koma geta sandals.

「街で見かけるオフのお相撲さん」コーデ。

温泉マークの意味不明さと「いて座」を彷彿とさせる弓矢の浴衣の柄がなかなか良い味💧

The bizarre hot-spring symbol and the bow-and-arrow pattern on the yukata, which somehow reminds me of the Sagittarius zodiac sign, give it a rather interesting touch… 💧

アクセントに麦わら帽子も被ってみました♫

I added a straw hat as an accent, too! ♫

最後に、青のトレンチコート・黒のビジネスベスト・

赤のスラックス・黒のプレーントゥ・

白のハイソックス・黄色のラウンドメガネ

…「トレンチコート」＝「探偵」と安直に思ってしまった。

I just made the simple-minded association of “trench coat” = “detective.”

そういえば、アーク(レオンの親友で私立探偵)もこんな格好して仕事していないな…。

Come to think of it, Ark (my best friend and a private detective) doesn’t dress like this when he’s working, either…
