今回も新しい師匠が現れたという情報をキャッチ
I’ve caught wind that a new Master has appeared this time, too!
その師匠と会うには…、
Apparently, if I want to meet this new Master,
前回のテリー師匠と同じく【Knock Out Festival】（通称K.O.F）に行けば良いらしい。
all I have to do is head to the same 【Knock Out Festival】 (K.O.F. for short) where I met Master Terry last time.
でも、今のところの手がかりはそれだけ💧
But that’s all I’ve got to go on for now. 💧
…なので、まずはいつもの通り、拠点に戻ろう。
…So, first things first, let’s head back to my usual base.
ちゃんと、まだあるかな💦？

どうやら、５カ月間そのままだったようだ…💧
Looks like nobody’s touched it for the past five months… 💧

(Wait a minute… What about the rent?! 💦 Is it being automatically deducted from my bank account? …Nope, doesn’t look like it. 💧

すると以前と同じく、拠点の壁に張り紙が！
And just like last time, there was a notice posted on the wall of my base!
レオン「誰だ？ また勝手にこんな張り紙をしたヤツは
!?」
Leon: “Who’s been putting up these notices without asking me?! ”
前にも言ったけど、ず～っと放置しているんだから、こんなことされても仕方ない💧
Like I said before, I’ve left this place unattended for ages, so I guess I can’t really complain if someone does something like this. 💧

しながら、その張り紙を剥がそうとすると、またある言葉がレオンの目に飛び込んできました。
Grumbling angrily, I went to tear the notice down… but then a certain phrase caught my eye!
【Knock Out Festival ２】！
優勝者は「パオパオカフェ６号店」ウエルカムイベントにご招待♪
The winner will receive an invitation to the Pao Pao Café No. 6 Grand Opening Welcome Event! ♪
レオン「出た～！ パオパオカフェ♪…ということは!? 新師匠もそこに？」
Leon: “There it is! Pao Pao Café♪…So does that mean…?! Is my new Master there, too?”
レオン「参加する、する～♪ そのためにメトロシティに来たようなものだ！」
Leon: “I’m in, I’m in～♪ That’s pretty much the whole reason I came back to Metro City!”
ミッションスタート！
MISSION START!
まずは、あのアリスに会いに、夜のビートスクエアへ‼
First, let’s go meet Alice at Beat Square at night!!
よく見ると、見覚えのある…いつものイロモノ・ファイター💧たちがチラホラ！
Looking around, I spotted quite a few familiar faces… the usual collection of colorful characters and fighters. 💧
花火
まで上がって、以前よりイベントの規模が大きくなっているようです。
There were even fireworks going off! It looks like the event has gotten bigger than last time.
レオン「やぁ、久しぶり～♪ 相変わらずのアラレちゃんっぷりだね💧」
Leon: “Hey, long time no see～♪ You’re still as much of an Arale-chan as ever, huh? 💧”
レオン「あぁ、もちろん！」(いつものように観光気分だけど～♪)
Leon: “Oh, absolutely!” (Though I’m still treating this like a sightseeing trip, as usual～♪)
参加者は、特別に配布された帽子を被り、参加の目印として戦い合う。
Participants have to wear a special hat handed out for the event. It’s how everyone identifies the competitors as they battle it out.
今回の帽子はピンク。ちなみに前回は青。
This time, the hats are pink. Last time, they were blue.
言われるがままに、それを装着。
So, I put one on as instructed.
レオン「この服には合わねぇ～💦 一気にダサくなった～
」と、↑このムッとした不満げな表情💧
Leon: “This doesn’t go with my outfit at all～💦 It just made me look so much worse! ” (↑ That’s the annoyed, displeased expression on my face. 💧)
お洒落なレオンは、こういうのが許せない性分(なはず)です。
As a stylish guy, Leon is apparently the sort of person who just can’t put up with things like this. (Or so I’d like to think.)
レオン「でも、仕方ない💦 このイベントのためだ、我慢しよう
」
Leon: “But I guess I have no choice. 💦 It’s for the event, so I’ll just have to put up with it. ”
レオン「似合ってないわ～！ 取ってつけたように言うな～‼」
Leon: “It doesn’t suit me at all～! Don’t just say that to make me feel better!!”
そんなレオンの気持ちを無視して話を進めるアリス💧
Alice completely ignored my feelings and carried on explaining the event. 💧
(アリスの中では、似合っている似合ってないはどうでも良くて、ミッションの進行の方が大事。)
(As far as Alice is concerned, whether the hat looks good on me or not is irrelevant. Getting the mission underway is what matters.)
今回はペアを組んでの２VS２のバトル！
This time, the battles will be two-on-two, with participants forming pairs!
５チームに勝てば入賞♪ その前に相方を探すことが先！
Win against five teams, and you’ll qualify for the prize! ♪
するとその近くで、参加の証…ピンクの帽子を被っている女の子「紅乃(くの）いちこ」さんに遭遇する。
But first, I need to find a partner!
Just then, nearby, I spotted a young woman wearing the pink hat that served as proof of participation.
Her name was Ichiko Kuno.
レオン「お互いあぶれた(？)💧者同士…目的が一緒ならOKだ♪」
Leon: “Looks like we’re both without partners (maybe? 💧). If we’re here for the same reason, then I’m in!”
交渉成立
ペア相手が決まりました。
Deal! And just like that, I’d found my partner.
…でも、こんな素性の知らない人と簡単にペアを組んで大丈夫💧？
…But is it really okay to team up so easily with someone whose background I know absolutely nothing about? 💧
早速、バトルへ！
Well, time to get into battle!
まずは、お馴染み💧のカラス団…ルドラ＆チャンディペアと対戦‼
Our first opponents were the familiar 💧 Crows duo… Rudra and Chandi!!

すると、ペアを組んだいちこさんの手には、なぜか扇子が…！
And then, for some reason, Ichiko was holding a fan in her hand!
レオン「きゅ、急にどうした💦？ それで戦うのかい？」
Leon: “W-Whoa, where did that come from all of a sudden?! Are you going to fight with that?”
レオン「いちこさん、思っていたよりも強いじゃん💧
Leon: “Ichiko, you’re a lot stronger than I expected! 💧
日本人だから、謙遜して〈あまり強くない〉と言っていたのだろうか💦？」
Maybe you were just being modest when you said you weren’t very strong… because you’re Japanese💦?”
まずは派手に１勝目
And that’s our first spectacular WIN!
お次はマッドギア…ダムド＆エリザペアと対戦！
Next up, we’re facing Mad Gear… Damnd and Eliza!
レオン「カラス団＆マッドギア…いっつも、このメンバーたちを通る流れだな💧」
Leon: “The Crows and Mad Gear… Somehow, we always end up having to get past these same guys. 💧”
久しぶり～♪の挨拶もなしにFIGHT💧！
No time for a friendly “Long time no see～♪” We’re straight into FIGHT! 💧
レオン「…あれ？ やっぱり強いよね、いちこさん💧!?」
Leon: “…Huh? You’re really strong after all, aren’t you, Ichiko?! 💧”
これで２勝目
That’s our second win!
レオン「いや、キミもね💦！」
Leon: “No, I mean… so are you! 💦”
ますます怪しさが増す、いちこさん。一体、何者なんでしょう💧？
Ichiko is getting more and more suspicious by the minute. Just who is this woman?! 💧

We’re up against a pair of unknown karate fighters. 💧

レオン「陽キャ56しキーック！」(…と、言ったかどうかは定かではない💧)
Leon: “Extrovert Annihilation KICK!”
(I’m not entirely sure whether I actually said that. 💧)
レオンの必殺技が華麗に決まって見事勝利！
My special move lands beautifully, and I score a magnificent victory!
これで、ノルマ達成の５勝目
That’s our required fifth win!
レオン「前と同じで、展開早っ！」
Leon: “Just like last time, that was over before I knew it! ”

今回の新師匠…不知火 舞(しらぬい まい)だった
This time’s new Master… Mai Shiranui!
レオン「目のやり場に困る服～💦」
Leon: “That’s one outfit that’s really hard to know where to look! 💦”
そんな舞師匠が変装してまで、ここに来た目的は、恋人の様子をこっそり伺うためだった。
It turned out that Master Mai had disguised herself to sneak in and check up on her boyfriend.
そのお相手は、テリー師匠の義理の弟・アンディ・ボガードのこと。
And that boyfriend was none other than Andy Bogard, Master Terry’s younger brother.
もちろん、テリー師匠と舞師匠は周知の仲。
Of course, everyone knows that Master Terry and Master Mai are close.
レオン「なんだよ、恋人がいるんだ～⤵」
Leon: “What?! So she already has a boyfriend… ⤵”
レオン「ガン見、バレてたか～
💦
Leon: “So she caught me staring, huh～? 💦
…って、イヤらしい目で見てたわけじゃあないぞ～！
…But I wasn’t looking at her in a lecherous way or anything!
舞師匠の強さとか、技の切れとかを見ていたんだからな～💦‼」
I was just checking out how strong she was and how sharp her moves were! 💦!!”

And so, in order to learn the techniques of the Shiranui style,

I headed to Aokigahara, Japan, just as instructed! 💧
レオン「ま、ま、前より露出の高い服💦」
Leon: “Y-Y-Yikes! That outfit is even more revealing than before! 💦”
炎を操り舞う、舞師匠がまたセクシー
Master Mai looks even more seductive as she dances while controlling flames!
華麗な技で忍者軍団を一掃
She wipes out an entire squad of ninjas with her graceful techniques!
レオン「めちゃくちゃ強いじゃあないですか！ 舞師匠💦‼」
Leon: “You’re incredibly strong, Master Mai!! 💦”
レオン「はい！ あります‼」
Leon: “Yes! I do! !!”
舞師匠(…の割には顔がデレデレしてるわね💧)
Master Mai: (For someone who says that, you’ve got quite the lovestruck look on your face. 💧)
レオン「ありがとうございます！」
Leon: “Thank you very much! !”
舞師匠(ますますデレデレしちゃったわ💧)
Master Mai: (And now he’s looking even more lovestruck. 💧)
レオン「そうなんですね！ 早く稽古をつけてくださ～い
」
Leon: “I see! ! Please, hurry up and train me, Master～! ”
舞師匠(………顔💧 しかも、どこ見てんのよ)
Master Mai: (……That face of yours. 💧 And just where exactly are you looking?! )
レオン「はい！ 頑張ります‼」
Leon: “Yes! I’ll do my best! !!”
舞師匠「じゃあまず、そのイヤらしい目線はやめなさい‼」
Master Mai: “Then first, stop giving me that lecherous look! !!”
レオン「ギク～ッ💦！ またバレてたか～💦」
Leon: “GULP! 💦! You caught me again～! 💦”
舞師匠「さっきからず～っと、デレデレオンだったわよ」
Master Mai: “You’ve been acting like a total smitten Leon this whole time! ”
それでも、入門できました

そして、絆を深め、やっと舞師匠とお手合わせ♪
And after we’d grown closer, I finally got to spar with Master Mai!
苦戦するも、なんとか勝利
It was a tough fight, but somehow I managed to win!
レオンも扇子を取り出し、勝利の舞💧
Leon even pulled out a fan of his own and performed a little victory dance. 💧

レオン「…コレが聞きたくて、わざと負けました」
Leon: “…I actually lost on purpose just so I could hear that line. ”
舞師匠「…ちょっとマニアックっぽくて、キモイわよ

Master Mai: “…That’s a little too obsessive. You’re kind of creepy. ”
その決めゼリフが聞けたし、お宝ショット💧も撮れたので、大満足♪
I’d heard her famous catchphrase, and I’d even managed to take some treasure shots. 💧
So, all in all, I was completely satisfied! ♪
今回、お世話になった舞師匠に別れを告げ、日本をあとにしました。
After saying goodbye to Master Mai, who’d taken such good care of me this time, I left Japan.
再び、メトロシティへ！
And headed back to Metro City!

フェスティバルのピンク帽子は、これに合わないので脱いでしまいました。
I took off the pink festival hat because it just didn’t go with the outfit.
今回はいつものメンバーとの戦い…というよりも、舞師匠の美しさが際立ったミッションになったな💧
This time, rather than being all about fighting the usual familiar faces, the mission really showcased Master Mai’s beauty!
またメトロシティと日本を行き来する羽目になったけど、ちゃんと弟子入り出来て良かったぜ♪
I ended up traveling back and forth between Metro City and Japan again, but I’m glad I managed to become her student!
…短い滞在期間でも楽しかった(いつも通り、お土産もた～くさん買えたし～)
…Even though my stay was short, I had a great time!
(And, as usual, I managed to buy tons of souvenirs, too～! )
また新たな出会いがあるなら、この「ラクーンシティホール」に弟子入り日記として記録していこうと思う。
If I ever have another new encounter like this, I’ll make sure to record it here at RACCOON CITY HALL as another entry in my training diary.
