今回はお伊勢さんにお参りに行ってきました♪
This time, I went to visit Ise Grand Shrine and offer my prayers♪
「富士山～
…ということで、早速、新幹線〈のぞみ〉に乗っている…ナビゲーターのレオンです！
今回の小旅行は、伊勢！
伊勢へは東京からの直通電車はないので、一旦、名古屋に向かいます♪
東京→品川→新横浜→名古屋…と約１時間40分の新幹線の旅！」

…And with that, this is your navigator Leon, already aboard the Nozomi Shinkansen！
This little trip’s destination is Ise！
There’s no direct train from Tokyo to Ise, so first I’m heading to Nagoya♪
Tokyo → Shinagawa → Shin-Yokohama → Nagoya…about a １hour and 40 minutes journey by Shinkansen！
「↑やっと、浜名湖が見えてきました♪
…浜名湖といえば、鰻～
そして、最初の目的地は…名古屋！
ひつまぶしがオレを待っているぜ～

“At last, Lake Hamana has come into view♪
…And speaking of Lake Hamanaー eel～
And my first destination is …Nagoya！
Hitsumabushi is waiting for me～”

「そうこうしているうちに、名古屋に到着💦
ちょっとお昼には早いけど、ひつまぶしが美味しいお店を探しちゃお～っと♪」
“And before I knew it, I’d arrived in Nagoya💦
It’s a little early for lunch, but I think I’ll go look for a place with delicious hitsumabushi♪”

「…そ、そうでした💦
今回はもちろんゲストをお招きしています
ドラクエⅢでオレとパーティを組んでくれた、この３人で～す！…ど～ぞ～

「じゃあ、なんで伊勢なの？」
“Then why Ise？”
「………え～っと💦 それは！
…実はカプコンのゲーム〈大神〉が原作者の神谷英樹さんプロデュースで続編が出るらしいんだ♪
だから、嬉しさのあまり、本物のアマテラスに会いたくなって…。」
“Umm, Well, that’s because…！
Apparently, Capcom’s game Okami is getting a sequel, produced by its original creator, Hideki Kamiya♪
So, I got so excited that I suddenly wanted to come meet the real Amaterasu…
「…あぁ、あの〈毛むくじゃら～〉の愛嬌があるアマテラスか！
結構前のゲームだけど、(ブログ主を含め)今でも根強いファンが大勢いるもんな♪」
“…Ah, that fluffy and charming Amaterasu, huh！
It’s a pretty old game now, but it still has a lot of devoted fans－ even including the blog owner♪”
「確かに！ あのゲームは名作よね…最後の展開が…泣けるのよねぇ💦
平原綾香さんが唄う〈Reset〉♪ …私、カラオケで今でも唄うのよ～

取り敢えず、名古屋にいる勇者・レオン御一行←💧
From now, our hero Leon and his party are in Nagoya💧
お昼には少し早いですが、ひつまぶしを食べに行くために…名古屋駅エスカ地下街へGO！
It’s a little early for lunch, but they’re heading to the ESCA underground shopping mall at Nagoya Station to eat hitsumabushi！
そして、辿り着いたのが…、
And the place they finally arrived at was…
ひつまぶしの名店稲生(いのう)
A famous hitsumabushi restaurant, Inou
平日で11時開店前だというのに既に行列！
Even though it was a weekday and still before the 11 a.m. opening time, there was already a line！
レオンたちも早速、並ぶことにしました♪
Leon and the others decided to get in line right away♪
店外には、↑ひつまぶしの食べ方が！
They even had instructions outside on how to eat ↑hitsumabushi！
「なるほど～♪」
“I see～♪”
「最後の〈茶漬風〉が楽しみ～♪」
“I can’t wait for the final ochazuke-style serving～♪”
そして、待つこと10分！ 開店 店内はすぐに満員！
And after waiting 10 minutes, the restaurant opened
The seats filled up immediately！
店外には次から次へとお客さんが並びます💦
Outside, more and more customers kept lining up one after another💦
「すごい人気ね～！」
“Wow, it’s really popular！”
４人全員、「ひつまぶし」を頼みました♪
All four of them ordered the hitsumabushi♪
「初めてのお店では、オーソドックスなメニューが食べたいもんね」
“When it’s your first time at a restaurant, you want to try the classic menu item”
そして、遂に待ちに待った…
And then, at last, the long-awaited…
ドーン！ ひつまぶし
Boom！ Hitsumabushi
＆＆＆「キタ～
♪ いっただっきま～す
」
“It’s here～♪ Let’s dig in”
↑まずは、「食べ方」通りに…、そのまま鰻の美味しさを！
First, just as the instructions said…enjoy the eel as it is！
「ヤダ、美味し～」
“Oh wow, this is delicious～”
「鰻、パリッパリ～ 香ばしくてジューシー」
“The eel is nice and crispy～ So fragrant and juicy”
「このタレだけでも飯がすすむ～」
“I could eat bowl after bowl of rice with just this sauce～♪”
「お吸い物も上品な味で、ひつまぶしに合うわ～♪」
“Even the clear soup has such a refined flavorー it goes perfectly with the hitsumabushi～♪”
↑２杯目は、ネギとわさびの薬味を散らして♪
For the second bowl, they sprinkled on some green onions and wasabi as toppings♪
「ネギとわさびが鰻の旨味を引き立てる～」
” The green onions and wasabi really bring out the eel’s flavor～”
「ご飯、大盛にしといて良かった～♪ 美味し過ぎて、軽く食べ切れちゃうわ！」
“I’m so glad I got a large portion of rice～♪
It’s so delicious, I could finish it in no time！”
↑３杯目は、薬味の上から熱いダシをかけて「茶漬風」に！
For the third bowl, they poured hot broth over the toppings and turned it into an ochazuke- style dish！
「これが１番やってみたかった！
う、う、うんまぁ～ タレとダシって、こんなに合うんだなぁ」
“This was what I wanted to try the most！
Ｓ-so good～
I had no idea the sauce and broth would go this well together”
「ホント♪ 軽くペロッといけちゃう
ひつまぶしの配分を考えて１～３の手順を往復しちゃったわ」
“Seriously♪ It’s so light, I could scarf it right down
I kept going back and forth between steps one through three so I could balance out my hitsumabushi
しかし、この稲生、美味しいのはひつまぶしだけじゃあない！
But an Inou, it’s not just the hitsumabushi that’s delicious！
名古屋にはたくさん食の名物がありますが、レオンの目的はもう１つ…。
Nagoya has many famous local foods, but Leon and one more goal in mind….

ここ稲生では、２本セットでお持ち帰りできるので、早速購入♪
Here at Inou, they sell it as a takeout set of two skewers, so they bought some right away♪
「よく食べるわね～💧」
“You really can eat a lot～💧”
「私もつられて買っちゃった💦」
“You tempted me, so I ended up buying some too💧”
結局、全員がお買い上げ💧
In the end, everyone bought some💧
大満足でお店を後にする４人なのでした～
Completely satisfied, the four of them left the restaurant～
伊勢への電車にはまだ時間があるので、エスカ地下街を探索♪
There was still time before their train to Ise, so they decided to explore the ESCA underground shopping mall♪
「あ！ もう１つの名物を忘れるところだった💦‼」
“Ah！ I almost forget another Nagoya specialty～💦!!”
「…はい
？ レオン、まだ食うのか💦!?」
“…Seriously？
Leon, you’re still going to eat more 💦?!”
「小倉トースト～」
“Ogura toast～”
地元の専門店では、持ち帰りが出来なかったので、「コメダ珈琲店」で購入💧
Since the local specialty shops didn’t offer takeout, they bought some at Komeda Coffee instead💧
「…全国にお店があるじゃない💧」
“…They have locations all over the country, tough💧”
※「小倉トーストは、名古屋限定らしい…。
Apparently, the Ogura toast itself is exclusive to Nagoya…
「こういうのって、地元のお店で買うのがスジだろ？ なんでチェーン店💧？」
“Stuff like this should be bought from a local shop, right？
Why a chain café💧？”
「だって、みんな持ち帰りが出来なかったんだもん💦」
“Because none of the others offered takeout💦”
「…それより、ひつまぶしでお腹いっぱいなのに、いつ食べるのよ💧？
ホテルでも夕食があるのに…。」
“…More importantly, you’re already full of the hitsumabushi.
When are you even going to eat that💧?
We still have dinner at the hotel too…”
「わ～、美っ味そう～」
“Wow, that looks delicious”
↑これを見て、結局、全員がお買い上げしました♪←💧
After seeing it, everyone ended up buying some after all💧
「美味しさの魔力には勝てなかったわ💦」
“We couldn’t resist the power of deliciousness💦”
しかし、このお土産を買い込んだことが、後々良い結果(？)となるのです…。
However, stocking up on these souvenirs would later turn out to be a good decision…
そして、名古屋から伊勢へ！
And then, from Nagoya to Ise！
新幹線は当然伊勢までは行かず、快速電車で向かいます💦
Of course, the Shinkansen doesn’t go all the way to Ise, so they headed there by rapid train💦
「伊勢まで約１時間半～💦？
新幹線の東京→名古屋と同じくらい時間掛かるじゃないの～💧」
“About an hour and a half to Ise～💦？
That’s almost the same amount of time as the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Nagoya～💧”
快速「みえ」鳥羽行き♪ ↑この電車に乗ります。
Rapid Mie, bound for Toba♪
↑This is the train they’ll be taking.
「撮り鉄には、たまらんのぅ…💧」
“Man…train enthusiasts must love this stuff～💧”
「↑快速〈みえ〉の車窓から～のオレ～♪…って、急にフィギュア化!?」
“Me, from the window of the Rapid Mie～♪
…Wait, why did I suddenly turn into a figure?!”
ここからのんびり列車の旅💧
From here, it was a leisurely train journey💧
「四日市」や「津」、サーキットで知られる「鈴鹿」、牛で有名な「松坂」などの駅を通過します。
They passed through stations such as Yokkaichi and Tsu, as well as Suzuka, famous for its racing circuit, and Matsuzaka, known for its beef.
その途中で雪
Along the way, it started snowing
この日は大寒波が押し寄せ、全国的に真冬の寒さ
A major cold wave had swept in that day, bringing midwinter temperatures across the country
「まさか、この地域で雪が見られるとは！」
“I can’t believe we’re seeing snow in this region！”
四日市駅なんて、もう↑この降りよう💧
By the time they reached Yokkaichi Station, it was already coming down like this💧
「オレたち、本当に伊勢に向かっているんだよな💦!?」
“We really are heading to Ise, right💦?!”
この後の寒さと天気が不安になる中…、
With the cold and weather ahead starting to feel a little worrying…
伊勢市駅に到着♪
They arrived at Ise-shi Station♪
「あら、寒いけど青空が広がっているわ♪」
“Oh my, it’s cold, but the sky is beautifully clear♪”
「雨や雪の心配はなさそうね！ これも天照さまのご加護かしら♪？」
“Looks like we won’t have to worry about rain or snow！
Maybe this is Lady Amaterasu’s blessing♪？”
大きな荷物は駅内の有料預り所に預け、その足で、今日の目的地外宮に向かいます！
They left their large luggage at the paid baggage storage inside the station and headed straight for today’s destination, the Outer Shrine！
伊勢神宮は皇大神宮(内宮)と豊受大神宮(外宮)があって、まずは外宮から参拝するのが習わし。
Ise Grand Shrine consists of the Kotai Jingu (Inner Shrine) and the Toyouke Daijingu (Outer Shrine), and it is customary to visit the Outer Shrine first.
外宮には伊勢市駅から、徒歩約５分ほどで行けます。
The Outer Shrine is about a five-minute walk from Ise-shi Station.
※豊受大神宮(とようけだいじんぐう)…天照大御神のお食事を司る神。
衣食住、産業の守り神としても崇敬されています。
What is Toyouke Daijingu？…It is the deity who oversees the meals of Amaterasu Omikami.
It is also revered as a guardian deity of clothing, food, shelter, and industry.
まずは、入り口の表参道火除橋で、ジルとレベッカをパシャリ
First, they took a photo of Jill and Rebecca at Omotesandou Hiyoke Bridge near the entrance
その近くの手水舎で、しきたり通りに身を清めました。
Then, at the nearby purification fountain, they cleansed themselves in accordance with tradition.
大きな鳥居前で１礼！
They bowed respectfully in front of the great torii gate！
まずは、習わし通りに外宮の御正宮に向かいます。
First, following custom, they headed to the Main Sanctuary of the Outer Shrine.
行くまでの道のりが自然豊かで心が洗われます
The path leading there was rich with nature and felt cleansing to the soul
御正宮に到着♪ 鳥居の先は撮影禁止！
They arrived at the Main Sanctuary♪
Photography was prohibited beyond the torii gate！
「平日なのに、参拝客がいっぱいだな♪」
“Even though it’s a weekday, there are so many visitors♪”
そう、伊勢神宮…愛称・お伊勢さんには、おみくじはありません。
That’s rightー Ise Grand Shrine, affectionately known as O-Ise-san, does not have fortune slips.
古来より、最高の特別格の宮で、神社本庁の本宗であり、「日本国民の総氏神」！
Since ancient times, it has been regarded as the most sacred and exceptional shrine, the principal shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines, and the ancestral guardian shrine of the Japanese people.
訪れただけで大吉なのだそう…。
It is said that simply visiting it is already the equivalent of great fortune…
だから、願い事なんてもってのほか！ 訪れたことや日々の感謝を伝えましょう♪
So, making personal wishes is considered improper here！
Instead, offer thanks for being able to visit and for the blessings of everyday life♪
本当はお賽銭をしてはいけないのですが、みんな投げているので、周りに流されて奉納しちゃいました💧
Technically, you are not supposed to toss in coins as an offering, but since everyone around them was doing it, they went with the flow and made an offering too💧
「アメリカ人の私たちは、易々と訪れて良い場所なの～💦？」
“Is this really a place we Americans can just casually visit～💦？”
神様は、寛大！ 生まれが何処だろうが、訪れただけでGOOD
The gods are generous！
No matter where you were born, simply visiting is GOOD
「…GOODって💧」
“…’GOOD,’ huh💧”
そして、伊勢神宮といえば、式年遷宮！
And when it comes to Ise Grand Shrine, one famous tradition is the Shikinen Sengu！
20年ごとに御社殿の場所を移動し、新しく造り替える行事のことですね。
It is the ceremony in which the shrine buildings are relocated and completely rebuilt every twenty years.
↑次は令和15年(2033年)。式年遷宮御敷地。
The next one will be in 2033.
This is the sacred site reserved for the next Shikinen Sengu.
次は、習わし通りに別宮へ！
Next, following custom, they headed to the auxiliary shrines！
風宮(かぜのみや)でお参り
They offered prayers at Kazenomiya
風の神様をおまつりする別宮です。
This is an auxiliary shrine dedicated to the deity of wind.
鎌倉時代の元寇の時、神風を吹かせて日本をお守りになった神様とされています。
It is said to be the god who protected Japan by sending the divine winds during the Mongol invasions in the Kamakura period.
現在は風の時代と言われているので、よ～く感謝を伝えておきました♪
Since people say we are now living in an age of wind, they made sure to express their gratitude well♪
続いて、
Next…
土宮(つちのみや)でお参り
They offered prayers at Tsutinomiya
大土乃御祖神(おおつちのみおやのかみ)をお祀りする別宮です。
This is an auxiliary shrine dedicated to Ootsuchi-no Mioya-no-Kami.
そして、
And then…
多賀宮(たかのみや)でお参り
They offered prayers at Takanomiya
豊受大御神(とようけのおおみかみ)の荒御魂(あらみたま)をお祀りする別宮です。
This is an auxiliary shrine dedicated to the Aramitama of Toyouke Daiijingu.
※荒御魂とは？…神道における概念で、神の霊魂が持つ２つの側面の１つ…荒々しい魂のこと。
What is Aramitama？…In Shinto belief, it is one of the two aspects of a deity’s spritー the fierce and dynamic soul.
更に森の奥に進んでいくと、
As they continued deeper into the forest…
↑メジロが楽しそうに遊んでいました♪
A Japanese white-eye was happily playing about♪
「みんな、みつかった💦？
周りと同化していて〈ウォーリーを探せ〉みたいになっているわ💧」
“Did everyone manage to spot it💦？
It’s blending in with the surroundingsー this is like ‘Where’s Waldo？’💧”
更に、更に奥へ！
Even deeper into the forest！
すると、さっきのメジロと↑可愛い小鳥(名前が分からない💧)がレオンたちに興味を持ったのか、数羽近寄ってきました！
Then, as if the Japanese white-eye from earlier and some other cute little birds (I don’t know their names💧) had taken an interest in Leon and the others, several of them flew over nearby！
次の社までの道のりをチュンチュン(？)とレオンたちに並走するように飛ぶ小鳥たち♪
The little birds chirped away and flew alongside Leon and the group, almost guiding them on the path to the next shrine♪
「かっわいいな～」
“They’re so cute～”
「案内してくれているみたいね♪」
“It’s like they’re guiding us along♪”
「こんな神聖な場所でこんな奇跡、…なんだか嬉しいわ」
“Something like this happening in such a sacred place…it somehow makes me so happy”
そして、
And then…
あんなにいた参拝客も気づかない💧 ひっそりとした場所にある下御井神社(しものみいのじんじゃ)を参拝
They offered prayers at Shimomii Shrine, a quiet and secluded place that even the many other visitors seemed not to notice
この中には井戸があり、水の神様を祀っています。
Inside was a well, where the deity of water is enshrined.
この時、驚いたことに、さっきの鳥たちはこの領域には１羽も入ってきませんでした💦
At that moment, to their surprise, not a single one of the little birds from earlier entered this area💦
手前の木で、レオンたちの参拝が終わるのを待つようにこちらを見ています！
They stayed in the tree just outside, watching as if waiting for Leon and the others to finish theiｍ prayers！
「小鳥も分かっているんだな…。ここの神域パワーを‼」
“Even the birds understand…the sacred power of this place!!”
可愛い小鳥たちに別れを告げ、正宮に戻ります。
After saying goodbye to the adorable little birds, they returned to the Main Sanctuary.

途中の道でレオンとバリーをパシャリ
They took a photo of Leon and Barry along the path
最後に北御門鳥居(きたみかどとりい)を抜けて、外宮の参拝はこれにて終了。
Finally, they passed through the Kitamikado Torii, bringing their visit to the Outer Shrine to an end.
ここでは、勾玉のお守りと開運のお守りを各人それぞれ授かりました♪
Here, each of them received a magatama charm a good luck charm♪
↑こちらが外宮の御朱印。シンプル イズ ベストですね
Here is the goshuin from the Outer Shrine.
Simple is best, isn’t it？
