〈カードの詳細〉 Card details
ソードの10…「10」はさらなるステージアップを目指す数字。
The Ten of Swords…The number ten represents striving for an even higher stage.
ソード(剣)は「情報」や「言葉」、「思考」を表す「風」のエレメント。
words belong to the element of Air, which represents information, words, and thought.
ソードの10は、攻撃的な言葉や不必要な情報が限界に達し、破滅や最悪な状況に置かれることを意味しています。
The Ten of Swords signifies a situation in which harsh words and unnecessary information have reached their limit, leading to ruin or the worst possible circumstances.
しかし、その一方で空から明るい光が見えているので、この最悪な状況から物事が好転していくことも示しています。
However, at the same time, a bright light can be seen in the sky, suggesting that things may begin to turn for the better even from this dire situation.
タイラントの一撃必殺攻撃を喰らうウェスカー…本物のタロットカードでは、うつ伏せに倒れた男の背中に10本の剣が突き刺さった状態が描かれていて、とても恐ろしいカードに見えます。
Wesker being struck down by Tyrant’s one-hit kill attack…In the original tarot card, a man lies face down with ten swords stabbed into his back, making it a very frightening image.
その姿は、破滅や敗北、不運、悲観、負傷…などを体現しており、男はまさに人生のどん底にいるようです。
That figure embodies ruin, defeat, misfortune, despair, and injury, as if the man has reached the very bottom of his life.
それを、バイオ１のシーンで、自分の手で解き放ったタイラントに５６されるウェスカーに描き替えてみました。
So, I reimagined it as the scene in Resident Evil where Wesker is killed by the Tyrant he himself unleashed.
最後の実験室での有名なウェスカーのセリフ、
「Don’t come this wa～y！」のシーンですね。
It’s the famous moment in the final laboratory when Wesker shouts, “Don’t come this way！”
そして、10本のソードをタイラントの長い爪の一撃にしてみました。
And the ten swords have been replaced with a single devastating strike from the Tyrant’s long claws.
10本のソードを背中に刺されるのも痛そうですが、タイラントの爪に身体を貫かれる方が絶望的。
Having ten swords stabbed into your back looks painful enough, but being pierced by the Tyrant’s claws feels even more hopeless.
破滅的なイメージの「ソードの10」に、より合うカードになりました。
It makes the card fit the catastrophic image of the Ten of Swords even better.
ウェスカーの右手のサイン…ウェスカーの右手の形は、大アルカナⅤ番の「法王」と同じ指の形をしています。
The sign made by Wesker’s right hand…The shape of Wesker’s right hand forms the same gesture as the fingers in The Hierophant, Arcana V of the Major Arcana.
これは「祝福」のサインで、この最悪の状況でも…まだ希望があり、新たな道が開けていくことを示唆しています。
This is a gesture of blessing, suggesting that even in this worst situation, there is still hope and that a new path may open.
実際にウェスカーは、バイオ１の最後に自身が放ったタイラントに５６されますが、その行為はわざとそう自分に仕向けるようにしていました。
In fact, at the end of Resident Evil, Wesker is killed by the Tyrant he released.
However, he deliberately arranged events so that it would happen that way.
それは事前にウィリアム・バーキンが作り上げたG‐ウィルスを体内に摂取して、それを覚醒させるため。
This was because he had already taken the G-Virus created by William Birkin into his body in advance, in order to awaken its power.
そして、自身の４を偽装するためでもあったのです。
It was also part of his plan to fake his own death.
…つまり、右手の意味は
「４んだと思ったでしょ？ いぇ～い、まだ生きてるよ～♪」ということです💧
…In other words, the meaning of his right hand is basically, ‘You thought I was dead, didn’t you？ Surpriseー I’m still alive！’
瀕死になりながらも、新たな道を開くための希望…この「ソードの10」にピッタリなシチュエーションですね。
Even while on the brink of death, there is still hope that opens the way to a new path…It’s a situation that fits the Ten of Swords perfectly.
…ペンタクルの10に引き続き、悪役の方の希望になってしまいましたが…💧
…Although, just like the Ten of Pentacles, it ended up representing hope for the villain instead…💧
レオンにウェスカーの意図を伝えるクリス…実際のタロットカードには描かれてないもの。
Chris explaining Wesker’s true intentions to Leon…This is something that does not appear in the original tarot card.
上のウェスカーのたくらみを洋館事件後に知ったクリス。
After the Mansion Incident, Chris learned about Wesker’s scheme.
それを同じ志を持つレオンに伝えています。
He then shares it with Leon, who holds the same determination.
「…タイラントに５６された後、ウェスカーはG-ウィルスのおかげで生き返ったんだ！」…と。
“…After being killed by the Tyrant, Wesker came back to life thanks to the G-Virus.
それを聞いて、驚きや怒りの表情をするレオン。
Hearing this, Leon reacts with a look of shock and anger.
…これは「ラクーンシティの多目的ホール」の「レオンのタロットカード」。
…This is part of the “Leon’s Tarot Cards” set for Raccoon City Hall.
レオンを無理矢理に登場させるには、こういった場面が思い浮んだので、このようなカードになりました。
To bring Leon into the scene somehow, this was kind of moment that came to mind, which is why the card ended up like this.
夜明け…真っ暗な空に日が昇り始め、黄色い光が山の向こうから見え始めています。
Dawn…The sun is beginning to rise in the pitch-dark sky, and a yellow light can be seen emerging from beyond the mountains.
「黒」は「停滞」や「警告」を表す色。
Black is a color that represents stagnation and warning.
しかし、「黄色」は「祝福」を表す色なので、この後には希望があることを表しています。
However, yellow is a color that symbolizes blessing, suggesting that hope lies ahead.
この絵柄だと…あくまでも、ウェスカーの思惑に対する希望…に見えちゃいますね💧
In this illustration, though, it may look as if the hope belongs to Wesker’s plans…💧
実際の「ソードの10」は、どん底の中でも必ず希望が芽生えるという良いカードです！
In the actual Ten of Swords, it is a positive card that shows hope will always emerge even at rock bottom.
今回は結構ショッキングなカードになってしまいました。
This version ended up becoming quite a shocking card.
