〈カードの詳細〉 Card details

数字の「13」…「13」は完全な数の「12」と、新たなはじまりの「1」から形成された数字です。

The number 13…’13’ is formed from the complete number ’12’ and the number ‘１’ which signifies a new beginning.

白馬とR.P.D.マーク…本物のタロットカードでは、レオンが持っている旗のマークは「白い花の紋章」になっています。

White horse and the R.P.D. emblem…In the original tarot card, the emblem on the flag held by Death is a ‘white flower crest.’

白い花は生と死の神秘を暗示しています。

The white flower suggests the mystery of life and death.

白馬は死神の潜在意識を表しており、ごく普通の「終焉」を意味しています。

The white horse represents Death’s subconscious nature and signifies an ordinary, inevitable ‘end.’

太陽…太陽は朝日であっても、夕日であっても、生命力や再生を意味しています。

Sun…Whether it is the rising sun or the setting sun, the sun signifies vitality and rebirth.

川と船…川の流れは新しいものを生み出すはじまりの象徴です。

River and boat…The flowing river symbolize the beginning that gives rise to something new.

船は左から右…つまり、過去から未来に進んでいます。

The boat moves from left to right－ that is, from the past toward the future.

死神レオンも同じ方向へ進んでいることを意味しています。

It signifies that Death Leon is also moving in the same direction.

船の帆には「バイオ４」のマークを入れてみました。

I added the ‘Resident Evil ４’ mark to the sail of the boat.

死を迎えようとしている生物兵器たち…本物のタロットカードでは、死にゆく王様、女性、子供が描かれています。

The bio-organic weapons facing death…In the original tarot card, a dying king, a woman and a child are depicted.

全ては自然の流れで、いつかは終わりが来ること…その必要性を意味しています。

It signifies that everything follows the natural flow of life, and that an end will inevitably come someday…and that such an end is necessary.

物事の終わりの次にやってくる、新しいはじまりを暗示しています。

It also suggests the new beginning that arrives after the end of something.

アンブレラで作られた生物兵器たちにとっては、レオンは「死神」みたいなものですよね…💧 対生物テロのエキスパートですから…。

For the bio-organic weapons created by Umbrella, Leon is practically a ‘grim reaper’ …💧

After all, he’s an expert in counter- bioterrorism.

このカードを描く時、最初に浮かんだのはそのことでした。…レオンを死神にしてしまおうと！

When I began drawing this card, that was the very first idea that came to mind… to make Leon the Reaper himself！

そしたら、本物のタロットカードの他の登場人物をタイラントやゾンビに替えることで、この「死神のカード」とバイオの世界観を保つことが出来ました✨

By replacing the other figures from the original tarot card with Tyrants and zombies, I was able to preserve both the meaning of the ‘Death’ card and the world of Resident Evil at the same time. ✨

レオンの足元にいるゾンビ犬、バイオ２でちょっとセクシーと話題になった女ゾンビ、倒すのに苦労したリッカー、強いタイラントまで平伏せさせて…どんな人や、動物でも…死は逃れられないものと物語っているようです。

At Leon’s feet are a zombie dog, the female zombie from Resident Evil ２ who became a bit of a hot topic for being ‘sexy,’ the Licker that gave players such a hard time, and even the mighty Tyrantー all brought to their knees or creature can escape death.

でも、この「死神のカード」は怖いカードではありませんよ♪

But this ’Death’ card isn’t a frightening one. ♪

物事の「破壊」と「再生」の意味なので、新たなものを生み出す「良い循環」の意味でもあるのです。

It represents both ‘destruction’ and ‘rebirth,’ and therefore also signifies a positive cycle that gives rise to something new.

なかなか意味深なカードになりましたね！
