〈カードの詳細〉 Card details
ワンドの10…「10」は「９」で完成した物事をさらに上へとステージアップさせる意味を持つ数字。
The Ten of Wands…The number ten signifies taking what was completed at nine and elevating it to the next stage.
ワンド(こん棒)は「情熱」や「理想」、「活力」を表す「火」のエレメント。
Wans correspond to the element of Fire, representing passion, ideals, and vitality.
ワンドの10は、そのステージアップのために、多くの情熱や理想を抱え込んでしまい、逆にプレッシャーになっている状態を表しています。
The Ten of Wands represents a state in which, in striving for that next level, one takes on too much passion and too many ideals, which in turn become a source of pressure.
アシュリーをお姫様抱っこで受け止めるレオン…本物のタロットカードでは１人の男性が10本のワンドを抱え込み、重そうに運んでる様子が描かれています。
Leon catching Ashley in a bridal carry…In the original tarot card, a single man is depicted carrying ten wands, struggling under their weight.
そのことから、男性の「情熱」や「理想」が男性自身の許容範囲を超えていることを意味しています。
From this, it signifies that the man’s passion and ideals have exceeded his own capacity.
その男性をアシュリーをお姫様抱っこで受け止めるレオンに描き替えてみました。
I reimagined that man as Leon holding Ashley in his arms.
本物のタロットカードと同じポーズにしなかったのは、レオンを後ろ向きで描かないといけないし、それだと本物のカードと代り映えしなくなるため、描いていても面白くなかったからです。
The reason I didn’t use the same pose as the original tarot card is that I would have had to draw Leon facing away, and that would have made it look too similar to the original card.
It simply wouldn’t have been as interesting to illustrate.
そして、10本のワンドをアシュリーに描き替えたのは良いアイデアだと思いました。
And I thought it was a good idea to replace the ten wands with Ashley herself.
どんなに痩せている女の子でもお姫様抱っこをするには重い！
No matter how slender a girl may be, carrying her in a bridal carry is still heavy！
しかもアシュリーは大統領の娘。
Moreover, Ashley is the President’s daughter.
あの村から無傷で救い出すには、もの凄いプレッシャーなはずです。
Rescuing her from that village without a single injury would surely come with immense pressure.
ワンドの10＝プレッシャー…の構図に合ってると思いませんか？
Don’t you think this composition perfectly embodies the meaning of the Ten of Wands－ pressure？
本物のタロットカードの男性より、レオンは軽々とアシュリーを抱えているように見えますが、実際のアシュリーの体重に精神的な重責も加わって、結構な重荷を背負っているという意味では責任感は同じといえるでしょう。
Compared to the man in the original tarot card, Leon appears to be carrying Ashley with ease.
However, when you add the mental burden of responsibility to Ashley’s actual weight, it suggests that he is bearing a considerable load.
In that sense, his sense of responsibility is the same.
決して、アシュリー＝重荷…という悪い意味ではないですからね。
It is by no means meant in a negative way, as if Ashley herself were a burden.
それほど、レオンにとってアシュリーは、傷つけてはいけないもの、失ってはいけないもの…だということです。
Rather, it shows just how much Ashley is someone Leon must not allow to be hurt, someone he cannot afford to lose.
恋愛対象ではないようですが…💧
She may not be a romantic interest…though.
10本のワンド…「情熱」や「理想」、「活力」の象徴。
The ten of wands…symbols of passion, ideals, and vitality.
今回、10本のワンドをアシュリーに変換。
This time, I transformed the ten wands into Ashley.
アシュリーには若葉が芽吹く「ワンドの妖精」💧になってもらいました。
I had Ashley become a ‘Wand Fairy,’ with young leaves sprouting from her.
レオンの服の色…赤は「積極性」や「自主性」、オレンジは「アクティブさ」を象徴する色。
The colors of Leon’s clothing…Red symbolizes initiative and independence, while orange represents activity and dynamism.
つまり、レオンは「自らの意志でこの重責を抱え込んでいる」状態といえるでしょう。
In other words, Leon can be seen as willingly taking on this heavy responsibility of his own accord.
どんな困難でもやり通す意志の強さ…。
The strength of will see things through, no matter how difficult the challenge…
まさに、ゲーム内のレオンと同じですね。
It is exactly the same as Leon in the game.
ラクーン警察署と街…「目的地」や「ゴール」を表しています。
Raccoon Police Department and the town…They represent the destination and the goal.
レオンがアシュリーを安全に送り届ける目的地となっています。
They serve as the place Leon must safely deliver Ashley to.
